Situated in the picturesque village of Dufftown at the foot of the Conval hills, Dufftown Bowling Club benefits from its beautiful surroundings and the ‘Angels Share’.

Located in the parish of Mortlach, in historic Banffshire, Dufftown is the Heart of the ‘Whisky Trail’.  Dufftown Bowling Club held an inaugural meeting on the 30th September 1903. The first bowling of the green was in the summer of 1906. The original club house was a temporary structure made of canvas; this was then replaced by a wooden structure and subsequently replaced by the building used today in 1970.

This building has served the members over the years very well but looking to the future it was agreed that modernisation of the clubhouse was essential. Currently the facilities are tired and dated; even so the club house is used all year round. Funding for either a new building or regeneration and refurbishing this is been looked at by the committee.

The new and improved club will benefit all members and visitors to Dufftown Bowling Club. We also hope to attract new members of all ages and abilities with improved access to the building and its facilities. Currently the winter indoor bowls can only accommodate one carpet; alterations to the club floor space will allow a second carpet doubling matches played. This in turn will give current and new members of all ages an all year round competitive environment to play in.

An upgrade of the clubhouse took place this year (2019) with the widows replaced and a new shed to store equipment.

The club would like to thank Glenfiddich, Balvenie, Walkers Shortbread and Speyside Harvesting Ltd for supporting events in the 2019 season
